Research Leader – Advanced Packaging

By FPInnovations

Packaging is a growing segment as the manufacturing industry is moving back to North America and e-commerce is creating more demand for packaging. In addition, there is an increasing demand for sustainable packaging (e.g. lightweighting, biodegradability, recyclability, etc.). This is creating a significant opportunity for wood fibres based packaging. The rapid advances in the development of biomaterials, fibre processing and surface treatment technologies by FPInnovations have created conditions for developing advanced wood fibres packaging products that have lightweight and unique functionalities required to compete with petroleum-based packaging products. To capitalize on the new opportunities, FPInnovations has recently created an Advanced Packaging Group in Pointe Claire Lab and is looking for a Research Leader to lead the effort in developing advanced packaging products based on wood fibres and new biomaterials.
