Reman Plant, Process & Quality Specialist

Key Accountabilities
 
  • Participate in safe, environmentally sound and healthy work behaviours at all times, in support of Toromont’s Health and Safety Policies, Programs and initiatives
  • Maintain, Own & Improve ISO9001/14001 Documentation, Procedures & Compliance, ensure tooling is always calibrated, create and maintain process maps, procedures, technical specifications
  • Schedule shop maintenance - providing guidance to shop employees and coordinating outside contractors. Ensure shop equipment is maintained & determine whether replacement vs. repair is necessary
  • Warranty claim investigation – Working with branches & customers to investigate warranty claims, ensuring failed parts and information are received, root cause analysis performed and preventative actions implemented. Create Quality Alerts and train employees on quality issues
  • Continuous Improvement projects – Continually improving quality, process and facilities via various CI projects; Research & select specialty tooling for various applications to improve safety, accuracy or turn-around time
  • Contamination Control & Waste Auditing – Ensure facility waste is in compliance with local & ISO 14000 requirements, perform monthly Contamination Control audits
 
Key Qualifications
 
  • Technical background, College or University education in a Mechanical/automotive field
  • ISO 9001/14001 auditor certification or related experience an asset
  • Knowledge of intricacies automotive and mechanical systems, powertrain & engine components
  • Experience maintaining large pieces of shop equipment
  • Experience in a manufacturing environment is an asset
  • Highly customer centric and a strong team player with a sense of urgency and a continuous improvement mindset
  • Safety conscious, exceptional communication and interpersonal skills with a proven ability to work effectively within cross functional teams
  • Attention to detail, efficient time-management and effective planning skills with the ability to quickly adapt to multiple and often changing schedules and priorities in a deadline driven environment
  • Self-directed with high integrity and initiative to be proactive in problem solving
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Applications including Excel, Word and Outlook
