Credit Specialist

The Credit Specialist supports the goals and assists in the success of the Accounts Receivable Department.
 
Essential Duties and Responsibilities: May include some or all of the following. Other duties may be assigned.
 
  • Perform service and collection calls to manage customer accounts;
  • Follow up with customers on service invoices to ensure they are satisfied with the quality of service;
  • Provide immediate feedback on customer concerns or complaints to appropriate department manager;
  • Assist in reconciling customer accounts and reports;
  • Immediately report all billing, account irregularities or errors to regional controller;
  • Prepare receivable aging reports and other schedules;
  • Assist in periodic marketing promotions designed to grow Nortrax revenues;
  • Cross train in other functions within the Receivables Department to provide backup relief;
  • Maintain filing system;
  • Additional duties as assigned.

Education, Skill, and/or Experience Requirements:
 
College degree preferred or relevant work experience, along with at least 1 to 2 years of relevant experience within the Credit or Finance area. Organization and communication skills must be highly developed. Computer skills need to be broad based. 
 
Language Skills
 
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.  Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public. Bilingual - French and English - would be an asset.
 
Mathematical Skills
 
Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, and percentages. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and statistics.
 
Reasoning Ability
 
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
 
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations
 
This person must possess a valid driver’s license.
